GUEST QUESTION
Have you tried any of the new 17 restaurants from South Australia just added to the afr top list of restaurants? http://www.afr.com/australias-top-restaurants

Hello Jamie! Out of the 17 newly added restaurants I've only had the chance to try 8 of them so far. Much more work needed on my behalf! I would say The Henry Austin, Restaurant Blackwood and Meze Mazi are the stand outs overall. The others already on the list that consistently deliver for me are Peel St, Press, d'Arry's, Salopian Inn and Andre's Cucina. Have you had the chance to come to Adelaide to try any of the restaurants? Would love to know what you like too 😄

GUEST QUESTION
For a foodie, how would you map out a visit to Adelaide? (Like the must try food spots, eateries, food street)-any 3-4
The short answer is Peel Street/Leigh Street. If you're short on time these two lanes in the CBD are lined with cafes bars and restaurants with a great mix of everything from Asian, burgers, tapas, Serbian, modern Aussie and fusion. The bar and cocktail scene is 👌. My top picks there - Bread & Bone, Kaffana, Peel St Restaurant, Udaberri, Rigoni's, Pink Moon Salon.

The longer answer - pop over to Central Market area to try all sorts of food and cheap eats. As a tourist day make a trip to Barossa or McLaren Vale for beautiful landscape and wines (and awesome cheese & meat platters) and head up to Hahndorf for a German experience (good food included). 😊

What are the top 5-6 things that one must cover on a tour to Adelaide?
00:20
Let's start in the city, easy to navigate grid system.
Eat your way through Central Markets, then take a walk along the riverbank precinct.
Tram straight to Glenelg beach from the city.
Wine regions Barossa Valley or McLaren Vale (or both!) for rolling hills, the best views and great wine and craft beer tasting.
Visit Hahndorf in the hills, the German Village
Make a day trip to Victor Harbour/Granite Island and spot some seals, little penguins come out at night too.

Kangaroo Island is beautiful, it's however not a short trip so if you can set 3 days aside to ferry across then definitely go for it! If you want to go shark cage diving then Port Lincoln is one of only 2 places in the world that do that. Also a distance from Adelaide, regional flight or long drive required.

Have you ever tried the famous Adelaide Pie Floater? The thought of it sounds terrible but I should have an open mind!
Absolutely! Gotta do it when in Adelaide. It's the mushy pea soup that adds extra flavour to a meat pie. There's a 24 hour bakery on The Parade, Norwood that does it if you fancy a late snack!

GUEST QUESTION
What is the most popular food item in Adelaide? Something like a must have.
00:12
Adelaide food is quite diverse so it's hard to pick a popular item. I'd say going to bakeries for a pie is a common thing so I'm gonna go with that. Pie Floater however, while less popular is unique to Adelaide. They sit a meat pie on mushy pea soup and top it with tomato sauce. :-)

What is your favorite spot for dessert in Adelaide?
Steven Ter Horst is my go to dessert place, an amazing chocolatier with delicious delicate desserts. For other desserts I love Eggless Cafe which also offers vegan desserts. All their desserts are as per name - eggless and amazingly still so delicious.
