We have billions of kebab places in Berlin but what's the best? I've tried a couple but am very curious about your suggestions.

So this is not exactly a kabab, but mind blowing. You need to order the "spetzial" which is a Turkish Bun Mi sort of thing, and the knaafe

Per Meurling - one thing I've been less than impressed with at a lot of Berlin kebab places is the quality of the bread. With burgers we talk about the right bun to meat ratio.

Who do you think does the bread to meat best with Kebabs in Berlin?

Again, I believe Royal 44 is really good. Their bread is locally sourced (they have two kinds of bread) and they manage to toast it in a way that the outside is crispy while keeping the inside fluffy. That way it soaks the sauce evenly across the bread and not just in the bottom. But I agree, bread in the southern area of Germany is better as most of the kebab places bake their own bread...

In syria shawarma is mixed with meat and french fries in the Arabic bread rolled with garlic mayo , in turkey the shawarma is mixed with eggplants and grilled pepper with the meat, but in egypt the meat is mixed with pickles and tahini sauce . In the end I love them all 😁

KEBAB! In BERLIN! Guys you have no idea how passionate I am about this topic. Considering I've tested probably over 60 of Berlin's Döner Kebab eateries you could definitely also call it an unhealthy obsession lol. As for my favs, most of them have already been mentioned, but for Beef I always go for one of the Imrens, for veal Tadim and for chicken Rüya. And from those Imren really stands out in terms of the whole package meat/bread/sauce. From experience, once somebody has tried these three there's really no going back to the shitty Döners you find everywhere. This article of mine summarizes my favourites:

Just for your information guys , kebab in Middle East is something else , it is big pieces of grilled meat , but this one in sandwich is called shawarma not kebab ,so when you are visiting Middle East ask for shawarma not kebab :)

Guys keep in mind that the Döner Kebab (döner=rotating) is a Turkish dish and in Turkey the meat in a sandwich, be it a pide or a dürüm, is definitely a kebab as well.
I also got a recommendation to go to Hisar in Schöneberg and take the chicken kebab - unfortunately so far away.... someone already tried it?

My favorite is the Gemüse kebab shop on Kastanien allee near corner of schonhauser... it hasn't hit the mainstream fame yet but it's insanely tasty. Better than Mustafa's certainly. They only have chicken though, for lamb I go to kotti

It's ok, Rüya, Mustafas and Kottiwood are all better for chicken

For me the best one is Rüya Gemüse kebab in Schöneberg (Hauptstraße). It's nearly as popular as the famous tourist kebab at mehringdamm but they have a number system so you don't have to wait in line but can do your grocery shopping in the meantime 😊👍🏻
