Ilanit came back four years later in London with « Ahava Hi Shir Lishnayim », a perfectly presented easy catchy record. This time juries were tougher with her, she ended up eleventh...

Israel has also had a repeater representing the country. In 1973, their first participation at the contest in Luxembourg , Ilanit sang « Ey Sham » and ended at place four, not bad for a first entry. https://youtu.be/6N8SwfYRGWU

RIP Joy Fleming, she passed away peacefully Wednesday evening. She represented Germany in 1975 in Stockholm with “Ein Lied Kann Eine Brücke Sein”, a massive performance granted her the third place! This is definitely a Eurovision classic!

Lena then represented her country as a host from last years winning again, which has never happened before, in Düsseldorf in 2011 with “Taken by a Stranger” finishing 10th. A very special repeater.

Their last participation was in 1981 in Dublin, with the Italian language performance "Io Senza Te", which reached the fourth position as well! Peter, Sue & Marc, the unique four times participants from Switzerland!

Peter, Sue & Marc actually participated four times, an absolute record! In 1976 in The Hague the sang "Djambo Djambo" in English, finishing fourth. So, four participations in four languages

A three time repeater comes also from Switzerland! It's the group called Peter, Sue & Marc, that enjoy nearly a cult status in their country. Their specialty is that they have participated three times, singing in three different languages. Here in 1971 in Dublin with the song "Les Illusions De Nos Vingt Ans" only finishing 12th...

Finland has had two repeaters, first one being Marion Rung, who in her youth got to represent her country in 1962 with the silly upbeat "Tipitii" in Luxembourg, finishing seventh.

RIP Margot Hielscher (1919-2017). She was one of the first repeaters on ESC representing Germany twice, first in 1957 (2nd ESC edition) with the song "Telefon, Telefon", a novum as she was the first to bring props on the stage. She fnished fourth (out of ten songs)

The British-German singer Ireen Sheer is a real ESC veteran. She participated three times and for two different countries, a unicum! In 1974 in Brighton, she finished fourth for Luxemburg singing "Bye Bye, I Live You", in an old school style, the year ABBA won with Waterloo and changed the style in ESC for ever.

In 1972, Vicky Leandros then hit the jackpot! She went winning in Edinburgh with "Après Toi", again for Luxemburg. This launched her career, especially in the German speaking countries.

The repeater of today is actually Greek, never sang for Greece though, but participated twice for Luxemburg, winning at the second try. Here is her first attempt, in French, with the classis "L'Amour est Bleu", in Vienna in 1967.

Five years later he tried his luck again in ESC 1973 in Luxembourg. The song wasn't such a hit like Congratulations but "Power to all our friends" came third in a very tight competition after host Luxemburg and again Spain...

One of the most famous repeaters is certainly UK's Cliff Richard, probably also the most unlucky. He came second in 1968 in London with his hit "Congratulations". Rumours say Spains Massiel won with her "La La La" only because Francos Spain had paid the jurys to get the competition to Spain the next year. Drama was already on in the 60's...

Her third time was then in Athens, in 2006, 15 years later. A professional performance of a mature entertainer:
Here she is winning. What a different look from the first participation! This one is in Rome 8 years later, in 1991

There has even been a repeater participating three times, winning once! This is probably a record. The Swede Carola Häggkvist is a true veteran. She has done some moderation too when Sweden has hosted, never loosing her humour. Here is her first participation in Munich in 1983 when she was only 17 years old
