Led by Chef Emmanuel David, Boulevard is about farm-to-fresh meats and using locally sourced ingredients as much as possible. The Super Food Buddha Bowl is perfect for those looking for something hearty. This salad is made with organic quinoa, farro, wehani rice, house-pickled vegetables, heirloom tomatoes, romaine hearts, and citrus vinaigrette. The slightly chewy and nutty flavour of the wehani rice really appealed to me.

The Braised Lamb Shank was tender, juicy and succulent; it left me lingering for more. I loved the pearl cous cous which added a fun texture of the dish. The dish also featured butternut squash, Okanagan plum jus, dukkah, and seasonal organic vegetables.

One of my favourite eats in Merritt was Kekuli Cafe - one of the top 5 Aboriginal restaurants in BC. Specializing in bannocks, their motto is, β€œDon’t Panic…We Have Bannock!” Using organic flours and creative recipes, Kekuli Cafe serves bannock in many ways, including flavours like Saskatoon berry, maple walnut and cream cheese Skor. Here we enjoyed some "Indian Tacos" and homestyle chili with bannock!

Cheers to the weekend and this beautiful Cilantro and Chive Bacon Double Cheese Caesar that eats like a meal! It's a bacon double cheese burger on top of a bacon caesar. Cilantro and Chive is a lovely family-owned and operated restaurant in historic downtown Lacombe. Delicious eats and friendly staff in a welcoming atmosphere. A must-try when in Central Alberta.
