Is it possible slowly taper psychiatric medication? I have been taking these drugs for about 10 years now since childhood. I used to have anxiety issues, now I'm recovering
Rohit Bhansali 9 months ago
Tapering Medicines is the way to Go..,
Whether it be SSRI's or Anti-Psychotics.
Mood Stabilizers are amongst the Only few Medicines that do not require tapering.

Hello friends,
I've made up my mind to completely quit smoking this moment onwards, Nicotine Cravings make me fearful.
Can you please suggest how I can overcome 'em?

TIA
Alberto Cenedese 9 months ago
Hi, I quit smoking 9 years ago. I suggest you to drink a lot of water to get rid of the nicotine that is in your body, and fruit which is alcaline. You have to be patient and after one week you should start to feel better. In those first days I was feeling very sleepy, but that's me, so I slept as much as possible. One suggestion: Try not to smoke not even a drag otherwise you'll have to start all over again. It depends on how much you smoked, but if you smoked a pack a day, it will take 7 days to get the nicotine out of your body. Nicotine is soluble so, again, drink a lot of water to expel it.
Good luck

Hello Boring, I have a friend who's mother was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and the prognosis isn't very good for using conventional therapy. Do you have any suggestions on possible alternatives or perhaps a second opinion? Much appreciated 😊

How to prevent it?

Uric acid is a product of purine metabolism. There are some foods containing a lot of them:

- beef, pork, lamb
- fruits of the sea
- organs: liver, heart
- alcoholic drinks (especially beer)
- lens, pease, beans

Very low purine containing foods:

-diary products, fruits, potatoe, salad, carrot, red beet, nuts

People with obesity have an increased chance to have gout.

What I recommend: when you have a genetic chance (ask your family members) to have this, try to reduce the level of the high purine containing foods, don't get obese(put your BMI<25), and do exercises. If you don't have a genetic chance, you still have to look over your weight and do sport as well.

So hello guys, let our first topic be the relationship of gout and food.
Gout is a painful disease mostly caused by high level of uric acid in blood. This acid when concentrated-mostly in the acral areas(fingers, toes) can turn into crystals which destroy the tissue around, and make inflammation. It looks kinda disgusting, let's see:
