Hi Daniel, do you have recommendations for a vegetarian in HK, specially some dimsum places? I'm not looking for vegetarian restaurants, but instead great food places where I can perhaps find a couple of vegetarian items on the menu. I enjoy busy, loud places as opposed to quiet places. Thanks!
Hi Nishith,

Pici Pasta Bar is a lively neighbourhood joint with some great vegetarian options that I love in Wan Chai. Amalfitana Artisan Pizza Bar in Repulse Bay always has a great atmosphere and a great ocean view. Chachawan is one of my favourite Thai restaurants in HK and have lots of vegetarian options and is always buzzing. For Dim Sum YUM CHA in Central is a great space with lots of vegetarian options and I would definitely recommend. Hope that helps!

Nishith Shah Glad you liked it! Very popular place so the wait can be quite long sometimes, but I think definitely worth it πŸ‘πŸ»

Chachawan was good too. Very lively place. I would say the vegetarian options were alright. My friends enjoyed their chicken dishes a lot though.

Hello, which part of Hong Kong would you recommend staying for a week. Closer to food markets and cityscapes. Also any backpackers hostels in mind?
Hi Swaminathan,

If you are staying for a week Tsim Sha Tsui or Mong Kok would be good choices to stay in. There are a lot more affordable hostels in these areas and there is a lot more authentic local food. Both TST and Mong Kok have great MTR transport links which will get you to Hong Kong Island in no time as well. Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!

What was the most expensive dish you've ever tried in Hong Kong? What was it, how much did you pay and was it worth the money you've spent?
00:14
Hi Agness, usually the most expensive places in Hong Kong are steaks in Steak Houses that can be upward of $2,000HK. Although they are expensive they are delicious but I still love the cheaper local foods as well

Hi Kushagra,

I've only been to Macau a couple of times and don't really know it very well, but McSorley's is probably my favourite so far. They do great burgers πŸ”

iScream and XTC Gelato I think have good reputations. XTC can be found on Cochran Street in Central, Hysan Place in Causeway Bay and Star Ferry Terminal in TST 🍦

GUEST QUESTION
hello daniel, what is the best transportation from Hong Kong Airport to Kowloon? i am quite confused about tourist pass, which is better if i am going to spend time there for more than a week? do i need an octopus card?
Hi Yovent!

The best way to get from Hong Kong Airport to Kowloon is via the Airport Express. Unless you have a lot of luggage and your destination is not near Kowloon Station, in that case just grab a taxi which is quite cheap. If you are spending more than a week in Hong Kong I suggest you get an octopus card. The fares are not that much cheaper when using the mtr but having an octopus card means you do not need to queue for a ticket every time you want to use public transport. Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions!
