We then had 3 days reserved for the two beautiful lakes in the region namely Pangong &a Tso Moriri.

But locals suggested that the road which connects Tso Moriri from Pangong Tso was closed.

This meant we had to pick one and the choice wasn't easy.

Covering both the lakes in 3 days was theoretically possible still but would have been very taxing on our bodies.

I thus decided to skip Pangong.

Didn't click many pics as was driving that day. Driving on that road was one of the best experiences of my life.

I was riding a 2 year old Suzuki Access 125 in a high altitude region.

My bike couldn't get over 35 - 40 Kmph while accending up the hill.

If you rent a scooter 🏍 do check the vehicle status reconsidering high altitude &!slopes of the terrains you would drive on.

We took a wrong turn from the Leh Petrol Pump ⛽️ and instead landed up on Srinagar Highway.

We rode on that road till Pathar Saheb Gurudwara and had our 🍴 there

Day 5 of our journey was 15th August. And we had reserved it as a buffer.

Our bodies we were in good shape and didn't need a day off and we thus rented two wheelers for us and started for Hemis (60 km from Leh)

After that ride we had a great and sound sleep in our wonderful Home Stay in Leh.

Going up and down the Khardungla Pass in just 3 hours wasn't easy on our bodies. Mahindra XUV 500 did make it slightly easier though as all of us slept on the back seat

We actually took a lot longer to wrap up our lunch at a cafe. Starting at 4 from Panamik for Leh gave our driver close to 3 hours (reaching before sun set is always recommended in mountains) for our return journey.
Puneet Khushwani 6 months ago
We then visited Hot Water Springs in Panamik.

Komal Khushwani and I throughly enjoyed the couple of hours we spent there. We did a small hike to climb up a small cliff. This was one of the high points of the trip

Starting from Leh which is around 11k feet and passing Khardungla is never easy on Human body. Make sure you have no signs of AMS before you start else it can be risky
Puneet Khushwani 6 months ago
So it was Day 3 of our trip and we started for Nubra Valley from Leh. We were to pass through Khardungla Pass (17582 ft).
Puneet Khushwani 6 months ago
Couldn't post from Ladakh because of connectivity issues. Completing my story today.

Glad to be able to wake up this on my B'day morning.
AMS tried to hit me though last evening , may be b'day luck helped me tackle it.
All set to leave for Nubra Valley today.

Plan as of now is to first spend three days in Leh (for acclimatization).
Besides visiting monasteries in Leh plan is to also enjoy white water river rafting in Zanskar River and spend a day at Hemis National Park.
