We're coming to Madrod for the 2017 world pride in 2 weeks! What is your #1 pick for a Thursday night dinner with friends to try some modern Madridian food before a party weekend?! Thanks!
HOST
Not long to go now! The recommendations are endless. But we'd say for modern Madridian cuisine, you must head to Aire. They are at the top of their game with experimental cuisine that mixes traditional Spanish with cutting edge modern techniques! You'd love it ❤️

Aire: Calle de Orfila, 7

What are the top brunch spot in Madrid? Say for a large group during world pride in July?
HOST
Thanks for the question.

For a large group, we would recommend Bar Tomate highly. They have ample space and the prices are just right too at roughly 8-10€ per head.

For something a bit more up market, then we suggest Panela and Co. Their prices range from 20-30€ per head. But very delicious and fully American.

Others to try include Monkee Koffee, Meat in Vallehermoso and The Toast Café. These are all in the Chamberi neighbourhood

Hope this helps!

What would be the places and experiences you would recommend if I'm visiting Madrid during Winters? I love food walks, street and architecture. Thanks!
HOST
Hi Swaminathan, great question! Winters are cold in Madrid but there are still many restaurants that have terraces with heating and blankets which are cozy and comfortable. Also for some gastronomía check out Mercado San Miguel which is indoors as well as Platea in the Salamanca area. It's an old theatre converted into dozens of restaurants, bars and places to buy treats to take back home. If you enjoy architecture the center has plenty to fascinate you. Go up to the top floor "Gourmet" section of Corte Inglés on Callao to get an amazing view of Madrid's iconic street, Gran Via. Have a café con leche while you are up there! Hope that helps you get started.

Visiting Madrid for a couple of days in November; what are some must eats? We're on our honeymoon and sooooo excited!
HOST
Hey! You're going to love Madrid. Must eats in the city will be one excellent pulpo (octopus), croquetas, patatas bravas. As it'll be your honeymoon, you might want to splurge a little. If that's the case, be sure to visit Los Montes de Galicia it's an absolute gem. Spend some time in Malasaña in particular Calle del Pez - loads of nice places there. Favourite coffee shop there is Hanso cafe. Keep us posted when you arrive and we'll guide you based on location and preference

Toledo is wonderful. If you're able to come back to madrid it would be good that way you can make the most of your two days experiencing both these aspects of Spain

Hey guys! Do you have any foodie tips for Seville or Cordoba?
HOST
Hey! Thanks for the Q. I can speak for Seville. Restaurante Adiamo has great Italian. Very unsuspecting spot in the center.

Also in Seville check out the Boston Bar terrace. Beautiful view of he square and cheap artisanal drinks.

In Córdoba it's obligatory to go to the place with the giant tortilla de patatas. Not sure what it's called but search and you will find it!

What are the best 5 restaurants for my wife and I to hit while in Madrid this summer? Looking for great food/atmosphere... thnx
HOST
Hi Mark!

The best restaurants to hit this summer would be
Los Montes de Galicia for excellent food from the region of Galicia
El Caldero for fresh fish and rice dishes typical in the south of Spain
L'Artisan Furansu for a little bit of Japanese/French cuisine that is out of this world
El Escaldon for some Canarian cuisine we couldn't recommend fast enough
Le Qualite Tasca on Calle ponzano for a modern take on Spanish tapas with an excellent seasonal menu.

There are so many options but this 5 are very solid!

Feel free to ask us a question anytime before and during your trip!

Enjoy

Any suggestions for Granada or Seville?? I'll be there sept/ocr. Thanks!
HOST
In Seville grab a indulgent cocktails at Boston Bar. Go up to the rooftop for a view of the open square. Granada is known for their tapas, stop by Los Diamantes 💎 and Heladería Los Italianos for the best artesan ice cream you've had. It's a mainstay in the city. Enjoy!
