๐ŸดWent on a food tour last night.. in my very own city, Kota Bharu. On the outskirts, at the district of Wakaf Che Yeh is a night market that tuns every single day. To begin with, we had roasted sotong or squid. #kotabharu

Don't be sureprised by the variety of dishes you get in Malaysia. This pic is from a famous restaurant that sells out really fast over lunch. Check out the food on display. You order your food, serve from the plates to your bowl, and return what you don't use. Smart, eh? #kotabharu

Tzy Ling Tan that's awsm! How sweet ๐Ÿ˜
๐ŸœDelicious lamb kabsa, chicken mandy and Arabic salad at Al-Khatiri Restaurant Kota Bharu, Malaysia.
๐ŸดThe meat was exceptionally tender, and the thick vegetable broth accompanying the dishes, was to die for!
๐ŸดThis resto easily made it to our top 3 at Kota Bharu, and by far the best Middle Eastern resto here. #kotabharu

This weekend's all about FOOD... after travelling to 3 countries in less than 2 months.. we decided to take a break.. rather.. take it slow.. and explore great eats at our home city Kota Bharu, Malaysia.
We're going to compile a list of our top 5 dine-in options (in no order of preference) serving local or Western food.
1. The Bricklane Cafe
- What: Chicken chop in black pepper sauce, with fried rice
Stay tuned all weekend for more...
Spl thanks to our local friends for taking us to these places we wouldn't have otherwise discovered. :) #kotabharu

where is the best nasi lemak you ever had?
HOST
Hi.. the best one I have had has been right here at Kota Bharu, Malaysia. The way they pack sambal with flavours and make the accompaniments is a tad different from the rest of Malaysia, slightly sweeter and far more intense.
What about you Yovent Thรฉn ?
Lyf&Spice 3 months ago

This jumbo dessert ๐Ÿ˜
๐ŸงABC or Ais Kacang is an icy dessert commonly found in Malaysia, Brunei and some parts of Singapore too. Literally meaning โ€˜ice beansโ€™, ABC stands for Air Batu Campur. Found almost anywhere and everywhere in Malaysia, it is a perfect way to beat the noon heat and a great substitute to ice-cream and other frozen desserts.

Teh Tarik or Pulled Tea competition at my li'l town, Kota Bharu. Although this guy did drop a li'l tea on the floor, he dared to go a notch up by doubling the set. Not an easy act of balance. Parit Falls โžกWhen your hiking trail opens up to this waterfall at Cameron Highlands
๐Ÿ‘€How to get there? โžกJungle trail no. 4 leads to Parit Falls
Though I feel the picture has come out way better than the actual falls, the experience of getting lost in the unmarked trails was brilliant! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜‰
The most comforting and calming place on earth โžกBoh Tea Plantations. This one was at Sungai Palas, Cameron Highlands. Where will you recommend to stay and to discover the lifestyles of locals? For a trip like 3 days 2nights?

Oh the nightlife is brilliant. I see you're from Singapore ๐Ÿ˜Š.. Singaporeans love to chill at Marini's at 57 (it's expensive but offers the best view of the city and towers).. or Sky Bar (33rd floor of Trader's Hotel + one of my fave)... for a relaxed and relatively casual night, head to Changkat/Bukit Bintang... where you will find a line up of pubs with the best drinks and food.. unless you want to go clubbing. For that, check out Zouk, Havana or Gravity club besides many others. Oh and for a unique sundowner โžกHeli Bar... :) hope that helps
