This is Castropol, in Asturias, as seen from Ribadeo, in Galicia. I took this photo at sunrise. The light was so beautiful that I begged the bus driver to stop so I could rush to take a shot! I think it was worth it

When the sun is out, Llanes coffee shops full up with people enjoying the good weather. Llanes is a beautiful coastal town in Asturias, in the north of Spain. There's a lovely urban beach and a great trail leading to many more!!

Another lovely coastal town in Asturias. The best views are actually from a viewpoint but I didn't get to go this time

Found this gem of a building (or what remains of it) in Ribadesella, Asturias
Keeping with the tradition of visiting local markets
Did you guys know I love cats? I met this at a vineyard near Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, called Pazo de Gallegos. The vineyard has a lovely restaurant serving local food and even rooms. The wine is delicious. The hosts fantastic and speak perfect English. And the gorgeous cat is a bonus !!
One thing I love when I get to a new city is trying to get away from the mayhem of tourists (which I don't mind, by the way!), and get to the smaller, hidden streets that usually hide some lovely sights. I did this in Santiago de Compostela abd was not disappointed at all!

When in Asturias, drink cider! It's the most popular drink here and it's made the old way: 100% apples! We had the chance to try it straight from the barrel and as you can see we had a bit of fun with it. Ps cider tours are a thing here!
Tapas in the North of Spain are called Pintxos. Needless to say they are delicious and always freshly made
Cantabria has plenty of vineyards, most very small but making great wine. A wine tour here is a must! Cheers!

I'm a huge fan of cats! When my friend and I saw these two darlings on our way to the beach, we had to stop to snuggle! Always remember to spay or neuter your pets. There's already enough cats and dogs in need of a home!

I love markets when I travel. The buzz, the colors, the people. It's a great way to get into the culture of a place. The one in Dikwella was not touristy at all !

I must admit I didn't like the food in Sri Lanka. Mind you, I'm a very picky eater with a dislike for garlic, which is very abundant in curries. The good news is that fresh produce is easily available and very cheap in markets. I could have eaten avocado toasts every day! Plus markets are the best for people watching

Sri Lanka l no like the place haha
Once again, let me stress that the best attractions in Sri Lanka are the cheapest ones! The train ride from Nano Oya to Ella covers 70 km in around 3 hours (super slow!) and costs a mere 60 rupees (around 40 cents) but the views from the train are splendid!

Money saving tip!! I loved Sri Lanka but if I have to be completely honest I found the archaeological sites massively overpriced for what they have to offer. The good news is that almost always, right next to a tourist attraction, there's a less visited one that is much cheaper, less crowded and even more beautiful. In this photo, I'm sitting on Pidurangala rock for which I've paid 3.5 USD. It overlooks Sigiryia, which on the other hand costs 30!! The best time to go is around 4:30 pm, in time to get all the way up and enjoy a gorgeous sunset.

Sri Lanka has an efficient - if only a bit uncomfortable - public bus network. However buses don't travel at night. A good alternative to reach the smallest places is to hop on a tuc tuc. Needless to say, prices for tourists are more than doubled so you'll have to haggle fiercely to get a fair price. I've learned that the fair price to pay is 40 rupees per km, so having a rough idea of the distance (maps help!) is good to give you leverage when haggling. Alternatively, offer less than half of the stated price and start negotiations based on that!

Looks like you're having a great time in Sri Lanka 😁. What cities would you suggest visit and for how many days?
The only city I really recommend is Galle. Other than that the best thing in Sri Lanka is the amazing nature!

Hello.thank you.good morning.
Today I walked through the jungle to reach Ella Walla waterfall. I was guided by two sweet dogs who decided I deserved their unconditional love. Do you like pets? I couldn't live without them!!
