My final meal in Malaysia before flying back to Adelaide. I'm always sad to leave and I'd like to say this meal made things better but instead I wanted to stay longer for the food hahaha. Bah Kut Teh is one of my faves. It's basically a Herbal Soup Pork Stew with veges, beancurd and different cuts of pork. So full of flavour, tender and delicious. Best eaten with garlic rice.

While I am on the topic of fish this was an amazing Nyonya Asam Curry Fish from Michele's Kitchen in Damansara Jaya. Asam is a tamarind based tangy flavoursome and fragrant dish made with a blend of spices and aromatics. Michele's kitchen is lile eating at your grandma's. They specialize in Nyonya and Hakka dishes and from the looks of it being a full house almost every night everybody loves it!

Say hello to the King of Fruits! The most pungent fruit ever. You either like it or you don't and I love it. A very creamy fruit that is super filling.

Naughty Nuri's is a successful restaurant chain from Bali serving really good Balinese food. Lucky for me there's one near my house. Their Nasi Goreng is to die for with such delicious flavour. The aroma alone is super appetizing!

GUEST QUESTION
Have you been to New Zealand? If so, could you recommend a 10 day itinerary?
Tzy Ling Tan
HOST
Hi Jason! I've only been to North Island and spent 15 days there. It's a real stretch to do both islands in 10 days due to the distance between things. 10 days in North Island I'd fly into Auckland and out of Wellington if that's possible. NZ works best if you drive yourself, Very easy drive.
Day 1 & 2 Auckland city surrounds, tower, brewpub, Viaduct, Art gallery
Day 3 - Go to Hobbiton in Mata Mata and then get to Rotorua for the night.
Day 4 - Rotorua: Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, Tamaki Maori Village experience
Day 5 - Rotorua: Redwood Forest, blue and green lake, grab some fish & chips and enjoy the beautiful lake, hot water spring baths OR Day 6 -day trip to Waitomo Cave to see glow worms. Highly recommend the Black Water Rafting experience!!
Day 7 - Set out for Taupo. See Huka Falls, go fishing if you like. Not actually much around here but it's a beautiful pit stop if you want to slow down a bit. Stay the night because it will be a very long drive otherwise.
Day 8 - Head to New Plymouth. Stop by en route at Mike's Brewery for a paddle of beer. NZ has awesome beers! In New Plymouth go hiking on Mount Taranaki.
Day 9 - Depart for Wellington. Wellington museum, explore the city, wharf, huge foodie scene ๐Ÿ‘
Day 10 - Eat more in foodie Wellington before departing if you can. If flying out of Auckland this could be an all day affair getting out of Wellington โžก Auckland โžก Home.

If you are a Lord of the Rings location fan, then it's a different ball game hahaha.

Unfortunately there aren't really many options near the temple. We didn't dine around the area so I couldn't give you a recommendation though Single Fin Bali does have a great view. Cafes are a bit pricier around here too.

Guess what! In 1Utama Shopping Centre, BU you can get Komugi Japanese cheesecakes. Their signature Hanjuku cheesecakes are ridiculously scrumptious cheesy light and creamy, exactly like in Japan. We tried the matcha, chocolate and original cheese flavours and they were all just as good.

I want to conclude my adventures in Japan with this beautiful snapshot in Gion, Kyoto.

Shirakawa-minami Dori is known as the prettiest street in Kyoto. A cobblestone road alongside the Shirakawa Canal, lined with trees hanging over. To me it's most beautiful at night and this was captured at 7.30pm in spring. Sayonara beautiful Japan.

Osaka, Japan
Baumkuchen turned out to be a very popular cake in Japan. As the name suggests it is of German origins. Also known as round cake or tree cake it's essentially a layer cake. Original vanilla flavour is pretty yum but of course Japan has made them in matcha flavour too.

Another childhood favourite of mine is this Pork Noodles but it has to be a good one are it's not enjoyable. The clear pork broth is so delicious. I like mine with vermicelli noodles. The toppings include pork slices, pork mince balls, fried lard, pork liver and vege.
